SwahDES is the manifestation of this inspiring quote from the Mahatma. That is our Notion of India … not defined merely by political boundaries but by a civilizational ethos.
मिले सुर मेरा तुम्हारा तो सुर बने हमारा… on the 15th August 1988 this clip aroused a new sense of unity not through nationalist rhetoric but with a song inspired from the rich and diverse folk traditions of India and visuals of stunning locations across the country. It was simple and effective due to superlative performances and visuals but also because one could quickly hum along and make the song our own. That is what we intend to do… create a place where people can make their own and not an object to be admired as a spectator.
